HOW TO MAKE FRESHLY MADE WARM BAGUETTE FROM SCRATCH:

Today I was cleaning up the shelves and found my great-grandmother’s recipe book among old notes. The recipe for Village Baguette caught my eye, so I thought I would give it a go. 👩🏻🍳 It’s cold and snowy out, so if you don’t want to travel out to the store, have a go at this straight forward recipe. Let the smell of freshly baked bread fill your house! 🍞

This recipe reminds me of my childhood, day’s spent in the countryside having lot’s of fun, meanwhile my great grandma used to give me warm milk and baguette with honey. 🍯🍞💛

Fresh Baguette Recipe

  • 1.5 Tablespoons of salt
  • 1.5 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 14 Grams of Yeast
  • 40 Grams of Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 500g Flour
  • 250ml Milk

HOW TO MAKE:

Firstly, mix an egg with salt and sugar. Next, Melt the butter, cool it down and pour in the milk. Mix together everything then whip everything with a mixer while adding flour, and when the dough becomes thicker, start kneading it with your hands. Add a handful of flour as needed until you get the integrity of the dough. Leave the dough for 1 hour to rise in a warm area and later create the shape of your desired white bread. Sprinkle your surface with egg yolks. Leave in a warm again for about 45 minutes then put it in the oven and bake for 35 minutes at 170-180 degrees C.
