HOW TO MAKE FRESHLY MADE WARM BAGUETTE FROM SCRATCH:
Today I was cleaning up the shelves and found my great-grandmother’s recipe book among old notes. The recipe for Village Baguette caught my eye, so I thought I would give it a go. It’s cold and snowy out, so if you don’t want to travel out to the store, have a go at this straight forward recipe. Let the smell of freshly baked bread fill your house!
This recipe reminds me of my childhood, day’s spent in the countryside having lot’s of fun, meanwhile my great grandma used to give me warm milk and baguette with honey. 🍯🍞💛
Fresh Baguette Recipe
- 1.5 Tablespoons of salt
- 1.5 Tablespoons of sugar
- 14 Grams of Yeast
- 40 Grams of Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 500g Flour
- 250ml Milk
HOW TO MAKE:
Firstly, mix an egg with salt and sugar. Next, Melt the butter, cool it down and pour in the milk. Mix together everything then whip everything with a mixer while adding flour, and when the dough becomes thicker, start kneading it with your hands. Add a handful of flour as needed until you get the integrity of the dough. Leave the dough for 1 hour to rise in a warm area and later create the shape of your desired white bread. Sprinkle your surface with egg yolks. Leave in a warm again for about 45 minutes then put it in the oven and bake for 35 minutes at 170-180 degrees C.
